6 weeks....

Our little baby boy is 6 weeks old today! I know he's still a little newborn, but he's grown so much. He is now smiling a lot and cooing and making other noises. Too cute!!! I try to catch his smiles on camera, but as soon as I hold a camera in front of my face the smiles go away & I get a perplexed "what the heck is that thing?" face . I am really enjoying being at home with him, it's such a blessing! I know that some women go back to work at the 6 week mark, given that's how long the state gives you, and I can't even imagine having to leave him. Not a chance! ;) We've found he loves looking at our pictures on the wall - he especially fixates on this one engagement picture of Mark and I. We wonder what he's thinking as he stares at it. Hunter is starting to sleep better at night, but it's off and on. The longest he'll go is 3 hours, then he's up to eat. I read stories from other moms about their 6 week olds sleeping 6 hours straight and I do get a little envious - but our time will come ;)

Mark and I are doing well. We're enjoying loving on our little monkey. Mark is back working in courts now that his patrol training is over. He enjoyed patrol so much more, but it's nice for me to have him home at night and on the "normal" schedule.
Hunter & I try to take walks every day, but with the stormy weather we've had this week we haven't been out walking since Sunday. Yesterday we did go to a couple of doctor appointments - one for me and one for him. Hunter had his 2nd Hep B shot and he was not happy about it. He was asleep in his car seat and I was hoping by some chance he could just sleep through the shot - but no, he let out a high pitched scream as soon as the needle went in and it just broke my heart. I'm not looking forward to his 2 month appt where he gets 4 more! =(

This Sunday we're taking professional baby pictures and a few family pics. I'm really excited about that and I hope that Hunter will give us a few smiles! We will definitely share them with you once we get them.
